Coopers Real Ale makes a bright golden traditional ale with fruit and malt aroma, generous mouthfeel and a moderately bitter finish. The brewing extract is intended for an approximately 23-litre batch.
What to use with this kit
- Balanced malt character: Add 1kg Coopers Brew Enhancer 2 or a suitable Brew Enhancer.
- Lighter result: Add 1kg Dextrose or Liquid Brewing Sugar.
- Fuller malt result: Use Black Rock Unhopped Light or Pure Liquid Malt Extract Light; the larger fermentable load may justify an additional suitable yeast sachet.
Follow the Coopers can directions for volume, yeast pitching and fermentation temperature.

These make distinct ale styles with different roast, malt and bitterness profiles. Select the finished style you want and follow that kit’s own fermentable and brewing directions.
- Coopers Dark Ale – mahogany ale with roasted malt, chocolate hints and a dry finish.
- Coopers Stout – dark, full stout with coffee, chocolate and roasted-malt character.
