Brick Road Hazy Pale Ale is a hopped-wort kit made with white wheat and ale malts, supplied with a hazy ale yeast. It provides a soft, juicy base that can be built into either a full hazy pale ale or a lighter pale ale.
What to use with this kit
- Brick Road Extra Light Malt – 1.5 kg for fuller body and the intended hazy pale ale direction.
- Muntons Oat Malt Extract – 1.5 kg as the supplier-listed alternative for a soft, oat-led body.
- For a lighter pale ale, use 1 kg extra-light dry malt extract or 1 kg dextrose.
Hop additions
Add approximately 60–200 g of suitable aroma hops depending on the intensity wanted. Citrus and tropical varieties are the natural fit; Wakatu hops offer a milder floral, lime and spice variation rather than a strongly tropical result.
Other Brick Road pale and IPA styles
- Brick Road IPA – a clean, hop-forward IPA with American ale yeast.
- Brick Road XPA – an extra-light, clean and dry pale ale.
- Brick Road Pale Ale – a classic pale ale with flexible strength and dry-hop options.
These kits differ in grain base, yeast, fermentable quantity and suggested dry-hop rate. Select the style first, then follow that can’s standard, fuller-malt or lower-alcohol method.
