Black Rock Unhopped Wheat

Black Rock Unhopped Wheat is a pale malt extract made from lager and more than 50% wheat malt. It adds subtle fruity, bread-like character, smooth body and improved foam retention without increasing hop bitterness.

How to use it

Use it as the malt component in an extract recipe or in place of simple fermentable in a compatible beer kit when a fuller, creamier result is wanted. It can support light wheat styles and selected darker beers.

• Typical colour: approximately 5 ± 2 EBC
• Unhopped
• Contains barley and wheat gluten

The required yeast and hop additions depend on the recipe’s batch size, gravity and target bitterness.

• Black Rock Unhopped Ultra Light – a pale extract for lagers, pilsners and pale ales.
• Black Rock Unhopped Dark – a dark extract for porters, stouts and dark ales.

All three add malt without hop bitterness, but colour, grain composition and suitable beer styles differ. Follow a tested recipe and account for the full extract quantity.
