Coopers Brewing Sugar is a 1kg blend of dextrose and maltodextrin. The dextrose ferments cleanly, while the less-fermentable maltodextrin remains in the beer to improve body and head retention without adding obvious sweetness or flavour.
When to use it
Use it in place of 1kg plain sugar where the beer-kit recipe allows. It produces a slightly fuller result than pure dextrose, while remaining lighter than a high-malt brew enhancer.
Follow the kit’s fermentable quantity and do not add it on top of another enhancer unless the recipe specifically calls for both.
Compare Coopers fermentables and bottle priming
The three 1kg products are added at the fermenter and give different balances of alcohol, body and malt character. Carbonation drops are used later for bottle priming after fermentation is complete.
- Coopers Brew Enhancer 1 – 1kg – dextrose and maltodextrin blend for lighter beer styles.
- Coopers Brew Enhancer 2 – 1kg – dextrose, light dry malt and maltodextrin for a fuller result.
- Coopers Carbonation Drops – 250g – pre-measured drops for priming individual bottles.
Important: Follow the instructions for the exact kit or ingredient you use; these products are not direct substitutes unless the recipe says so.
