Brick Road XPA

This extra-light pale ale is clean, light and dry, with a subtle fruitiness and mild malt balance.

Add a sachet of glucoamylase enzyme for a lower-carb, dry XPA.

Can be brewed Low or Mid, from 2.6% to 4.8% ABV. See can for recipe options.

Specifications (approx.) of 23L made with 1kg dextrose or brewing sugar.

Colour – Pale Straw, 5 EBC; Bitterness – Low-medium, 17 IBU; Grist – Extra pale ale malt; Wort – OG 1.038; FG 1.008 (approx.);

Yeast – American Ale Yeast.

For a XPA style beer add:
1kg of dextrose or brewing sugar (Coopers Brewing Sugar, Brewmaster Brewing Sugar or Liquid Brewing Sugar)
More malt style beer add 1kg of Brick Road Extra Light malt extract

For a Mid or Low Alcohol version add:
250g of dextrose or brewing sugar (Coopers Brewing Sugar, Brewmaster Brewing Sugar or Liquid Brewing Sugar)
More malt style beer add 250g of Brick Road Extra Light malt extract

For a Lower Carb version add:
A 3g sachet of glucoamylase enzyme (dry enzyme) with the yeast at the start of the fermentation.
This may reduce the carbohydrate content of the resulting beer (ABV will increase slightly).

Dry Hop Additions :
Dry Hop Additions suggested: For added tropical or citrus flavour, add 30g of NZ hops like Riwaka, Nelson Sauvin or Nectaron, or Australian hops like Pride of Ringwood , Galaxy or Eclipse.

Only the finest grains are selected and malted. Malts are blended to suit the beer style, then mashed with hop extracts to create hopped wort. The fresh wort is gently reduced to 80 Brix before being canned fresh on-site to retain its original delicious malt flavours.
