Mangrove Jack’s Pure Liquid Malt Extract Light is an all-malt fermentable for adding flavour, aroma, body and mouthfeel to beer. The pale colour suits lagers, pilsners, golden ales and light-coloured pale ales, while remaining versatile enough for many other styles.
In a typical 23L beer kit, the 1.2kg pouch can replace brew enhancer or dextrose and may raise the finished beer by approximately 1.5% ABV. Because malt extract contains some unfermentable sugars, it generally leaves more body and malt character than dextrose.
How to use it
- Add the full pouch to a compatible 23L beer kit or use it as the fermentable base for an extract recipe.
- Mix thoroughly with the kit concentrate and warm water before topping up and pitching yeast.
- Dry matter: 79-83% by weight. Colour: 5-8 EBC.
What to use with it
It is especially useful with lighter kits such as Mangrove Jack’s Mexican Cerveza. For a lighter, drier result with less malt body, use Dextrose instead.
