Spirit filtering helps polish suitable distilled neutral spirit by reducing unwanted flavours and aromas before flavouring or bottling. Choose a system based on your batch size and whether you prefer a replaceable cartridge or a loose-carbon filter column, then use only the correct consumables for that system.

Choosing a spirit filter

• All-in-one cartridge filtering: The Pure Distilling Smart Filter Kit can hold, dilute and filter up to 15 litres of suitable spirit using its matching Premium Carbon Cartridge.
• Bench-top cartridge system: The Essencia Carbon Filter System uses its own multi-stage replacement cartridge for straightforward, low-mess filtering.
• Batch cartridge filtering: The Still Spirits EZ Filter uses a dedicated EZ Filter Carbon Cartridge and includes upper and lower reservoirs.
• Loose-carbon filtering: The Still Spirits Filter Pro is a larger gravity-fed system designed to filter through loose finishing carbon.

Air Still owners can also consider the compatible Air Still Filter & Collector. Before filtering, check the system’s maximum recommended alcohol strength, capacity and flow instructions. Replace cartridges or carbon at the stated interval and never substitute a cartridge simply because it looks similar.
