Sediment Reducer

This sediment reducer fits inside a compatible fermenter at the tap opening and helps draw liquid from just above the settled layer of yeast and trub. It can make transferring or bottling clearer beer, cider or wine easier.

Compatible tap pathway

It may suit a compatible Standard Fermenter Tap or similar fermenter-tap arrangement. Taps and fermenter wall fittings are not universal, so compare the reducer fitting, tap inlet and available internal clearance before ordering.

Using the sediment reducer

Fit it securely to the inside of the compatible tap before filling the fermenter, with the intake positioned to avoid the base sediment. Clean and sanitise it before every use.

It reduces sediment pickup but does not replace careful settling or racking technique.
