Primary Carbon 500g

Primary Carbon is a powdered activated carbon used during treatment of a fermented spirit wash. It adsorbs fermentation by-products before the wash is cleared and transferred for distillation.

How to use Primary Carbon

• Add approximately 80 g to one suitable spirit-wash batch.
• Mix as directed and allow 7–10 days of contact time.
• Clear the wash thoroughly before transferring it, leaving the settled carbon behind.

What else you will need

After primary treatment, use Still Spirits Finishing Carbon at the finishing stage specified by your process. Primary and finishing carbons have different roles and are not direct substitutes.
