Sampling and transferring is done through a valve above the sediment line, allowing for clear, sediment free beer. Collect your yeast from below the sediment line for recultivating and pitching.

Optional inlet for heavier sediment

For GF30 batches with large dry-hop or fruit additions, the Grainfather 160mm Liquid Inlet raises the sampling and transfer point above a deeper sediment layer. It is an optional replacement for the standard 110mm inlet, rather than an extra part needed for every batch.
